This red and green glass piece was a study in how glass flows.  I made this in a class I took at Bullseye Glass in Portland, Oregon called Harnessing the Flow.  Glass billets and sheets are cut and placed in a dammed mold which is then fired while one end of the mold is propped up.  The weight of the glass as it becomes hot and fluid pushes the glass into the bottom of the mold which is left empty.  The effect of the tilted mold and flowing glass creates a flared wedge of glass that stands beautifully on its own.  This was a fun class and I would recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the properties of glass.
